This treatment benefits ALL skin tones and Fitzpatrick levels.
So what's the science behind it?
Procell's Microchanneling is a style of collagen rejuvenation. The "micro-injuries" are created by "stamping" vertically to create clean micro-channels instead of dragging or gliding across the skin. No scratching or tearing of the skin occurs. This treatment is ideal for all skin needs and requires little to no downtime.
Explain the difference between microchanneling and microneedling.
A microneedling device involves the use of a handheld roller covered in tiny needles which is dragged over the skin. This method can actually tear the skin. Instead, the microchanneling device encompasses a linear stamping technique, resulting in clean, consistent micro-channels.
Microneedling typically uses 2.0 mm length needles and microchanneling typically uses 0.25 mm – 1.0 mm needles with 0.25 mm – 0.5 mm being the most common. These shorter needles stimulate stem cells in the epidermis instead of the longer, invasive needles that can cause damage to dermal cells. This also helps to ensure that the practitioner doesn’t work too deep in the skin or cause any permanent damage.
Another bonus, microchanneling is not only more beneficial to the skin but also more affordable per treatment in comparison to microneedling. Microneedling typically ranges anywhere from $400-550 per treatment, whereas microchanneling ranges anywhere from $250-$350 per treatment!
